Poker tips

Poker is a game of tactics and patience. When do you call, when do you bet, when do you raise, and when do you muck your cards? These tips are not meant to teach you poker, we assume that you know the rules of the game in and out. But, we do want to give you a few tips that will help you increase your profit or keep your losses to a minimum.

  • Never show your cards.
  • Get to know your opponent. Is he an aggressive player or a passive one? If he a bluffer or does he only play the good hands? You need to learn to anticipate this.
  • Mix it up. Play diverse so that other players will have a difficult time reading you.
  • Never play when you've been drinking.
  • Never play when you are too emotional, angry, heartbroken, etc.
  • Don't play too many bluffs because your opponent will also get good cards from time to time.
  • Have patience. The good cards will come.
  • Are you playing for money? Only bring 5% of your total bankroll to the table or the tournament.
  • Know when to muck your hand and accept the loss.
